Thumbs up Gidday from FNQ,Australia

Gidday, finally got around to joining a sailing related forum..
Been an owner of a 28' Tilly, built in Hand laid F/G, Built in Fremantle, Western Australia, 1975.. Natural disasters, finances, and other distractions have led to boat suffering a 3 year term of sad neglect.. Finally got the time/money to haul out, and had to move boat about 100klm up the coast here, for haul out.. Wild storm and transmission problems prevented me from getting there, now stuck at mooring in semi remote location,
Also manic wooden boat builder enthusiast.
With next mission a John Welsford Whaler [19'5"] open sailing dinghy, that I plan to circumnav Australia in.. [mid life crisis be damned haha]
Will be posting a few transmission Q's soon.. Any hoo GIDDAY

Welcome aboard! It all sounds interesting. I've built some dinghies and such. Do be careful if you undertake an open boat sea voyage. But report back.

Welcome to Sailnet, Freebird!

There's a goodly bunch of Aussies here.. and a wooden boat enthusiast is always welcome.

Always good to see another from DownUnder. While this place is over represented by USAians, the number of Canadians in the mix compared to us has been troubling to say the least. We need to hold our end up.
