Hi All! I am relatively new to sailing and I am looking for a boat that I can live aboard for extended weekends. The Pearson 30 interests me and also a Helms 27. Most of my sailing will be single handed and in fresh water. However, my plan is to take it offshore within a year......once I hone my sailing skills.

Re: Newbie

When you say offshore, just what do you mean? Are you just going to go a few miles offshore or are you going to cross the Pacific?

I'd look at a Catalina 30 also.

Re: Newbie

Pearson 30's are good boats and as mentioned above, I agree you might want to look at Catalina 30's as well. I used to have one. Nice boat and very roomy for a 30.

Re: Newbie

I am looking for a boat at or near Lake Lanier, GA and Catalina 30s for sale are few and far between.
