New to Sailnet, Just saying Hello... and a Question

I recently joined SailNet and wanted to say hello.

I am currently in the process of buying a sailboat, 31 Contest, and had a question: I was reading through some posts and came across someone briefly mentioning a nonfiction Book about a Contest 30 or 31 (I think) that was sailed with a gash in the hull, I believe it was in the Caribbean at the time. Unfortunately that is all I remember ... must have been late and I did not jot down the Book Author or Title down. If anyone knows the book I would appreciate the info. Was thinking it might be good reading while on vacation this summer.

Anyway, great forums. Looking forward to sailing on my "new" old boat this year and sharing the experience with the SailNet community.

Welcome Bob!

I think I'm halfway between you and Denise. Nice to see another PAer and potential new Sailnet member at next year's rendezvous.

Keep an eye on the Chesapeake forum in the Destinations folder. There are regular get-togethers and raft ups if you want to participate and meet folks face to face (or, boat to boat). There are some wonderful people who participate. Maybe one will actually answer your book question.
