I thought I'd been here several years ago but a search says no. I'm retired and my wife and I are thinking about a live aboard. I have no real sailing experience but a bit of offshore experience in motor boats.
We are going to take a charter or few to be sure before buying a boat. I'm thinking about a 40ish cat. We're from the SE USA so we'll start there, maybe then the Caribbean, then we'll see.
I love to fish offshore and scuba. I like Costa Rica and we're traveling to Hawaii this summer. I've been to the south China sea, about the Caribbean, and the Med but not a lot more
Personally, I'm a retired physician and she's a Chinese National who is an attorney. I have four kids who are mostly all in college and cost me some bucks monthly. She has one living in Toronto and they get some bucks monthly, too. Two grands and I see one a fair amt. She has no medical problems but I have to see a physician several times a year but nothing serious just some diabetes no insulin and hypertension. So I need to get meds monthly or every three months. I'm on Medicare with supplemental and she has only Chinese national insurance which I doubt helps outside China. So I'd like to know how much trouble I'll have outside the US getting medical attn, does Medicare or other US insurance help pay, and how do I get meds away from home?
