Sailing Med to Canary Islands, would love to hear from others who have done this

Anyone out there who has sailed the Med from Turkey (August through September through the Straits...then on to Canary Islands.... will then wait out Hurricane season (October through November) and then sail Atlantic to USVI. I would love to correspond with sailors who have done this sail. I understand the rally will be meeting up in Canary islands in November when I am there... but would love to communicate now with people. (Talk weather, communications, sailing conditions, cultural experiences and just good ole fun times)...I am crew on this leg. The captain is on his final leg of a his circumnavigation back to NC.

When you'll be 'there'? What boat will you be on?

I arrive in late September, early October.... leave late November for Caribbean.

R U sailing the Med now? If so, how are internet connections? Any other tips you could share would be greatly appreciated. This is my first sailing trip there. I am more familiar with the Caribbean.
