Hi Everyone -

Hi Everyone...This is my first post. I'm new to this and I humbly apologize for any protocol

I've been around boats all my life, and now I finally bought one big enough to live on, which I intend to start doing almost immediately. There's a bunch of relatively minor improvement and housekeeping chores that need attending at the outset.

The boat, now named S/V Sparkle Plenty, has a manual windlass. I'd like to consider switching to electric. Anyone have an opinion on vertical vs horizontal arrangement?

If this is not the right place for this sort of question your directions would be most appreciated.

-Mark

Re: Hi Everyone -

Welcome Mark!
Probably the "Gear and Maintenance" section for windlass questions.
You might also create a profile containing your location. Where are you, and what boat? I'm on Long Island NY, with a 39' ketch.
