Hello all from Milwaukee

Hello all. I am here in search of a new hobby. After a couple get off's of my motorcycle, I am done with two wheels and am looking for something more family friendly. I have grown up around boats - power and sail (no sailboats over 16' though.) I used to own a butterfly snark that was fun on the lakes here in WI, and sail my parents basic sailboats at our summer place in Maine.

I am seriously looking at joining a sailing center here to take some classes and some more official training. Someday buy a boat. Someday after that buy a larger boat and sail the great loop.

Anyway - back to the lurking.

Re: Hello all from Milwaukee

As a former resident of Milwaukee, I say welcome! The city really has a *GEM* in the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. I moved away *JUST* before the new facility went up, and man, I am jealous. It truly is a rare place....reasonable dues, great programs, great new facility....just perfect.

Thanks, the Architecture firm I work for did that project. It really is cool (yes I am biased.)

Re: Hello all from Milwaukee

I store my dingy at the MCSC, great people and great program. Peter and his crew are a credit to the community. All in all I have to recommend it as one of the best programs in the country.
