Checking in, Toronto!

Completely new to sailing, but the bug hit me hard. You can blame it entirely on the Distant Shores TV series, or maybe throw in a bit of an early mid-life crisis hitting at 33, but I knew this was something I would at least have to try.

It's a little late in the season to get started, but I'm already mapping out courses, yacht clubs, and the like for next year.

And as alarming as it may be, my browser has the local boats section of Craigslist bookmarked. The one thing I found rather surprising was that the cost of entry for a smaller boat isn't all that prohibitive. I mean I'm sure the old adage of "you get what you pay for" applies, but it looks like there are plenty of boats to be had

Anyway, looking forward to absorbing every inch of this forum over the coming winter and hopefully adding some stories come the thaw

Welcome aboard!
It's not too late in the season, and if you want to get your feet wet and get some sailing time, we are always looking for new victi, er, crew. We sail until halloween and do a mean thaksgiving turkey on the dock. Come on down and join us we are closer than you think.
btw, if you want really really good time wasting ontario boat-shopping porn, try this:

Re: Checking in, Toronto!

Whereabouts are you?

Thanks for the welcome! I've got a lot on my plate in the coming months, which is primarily why I can't devote all the time to this that I'd like, but I am determined to get this going next year.

Also, that link.. will be the.. ruin of me!
