Getting back into sailing

Hi ya'll!

My name is Arthur, and I've been sailing since I was about 14 years old (coming up on 42 now). I grew up sailing in VA Beach, but I moved to Missouri when I was 19, so I didn't sail much for a while. Luckily, I've had family on both coasts, and on lakes in the middle, that remained sailors, so I was never "dry" for too long.

To make a long story short, I was divorced in 2010 and bought my first sailboat in 20 years - a Prindle 16 beach cat. That same summer, I reunited with my high school sweetheart, and although she lives in Florida, we are married. All of this to say, my Prindle lives in Florida now, and I just bought a project - a Balboa 24, which I will be restoring in Missouri for a while

Not living near any real sailing, it's nice to have sailors to talk to. Around here, most people have never ever seen a sailboat in person

Welcome back! You'll find lots of advice here, both fresh and in the archives, as you work on your "new" boat. Enjoy...
