Lightning rebuild

Good morning all. I have just got an old Lippincott Lightning. Planning on a a lot of work between now and the spring. I'm hoping there are a few people that can offer advice in general and on Lightnings in particular. Mostly cosmetic and some rather tricky fiberglass work.
Just joined the SailNet community, so will see if I can post pics from time to time.
Hope to be here often.
Jay

Re: Lightning rebuild

Hi Jay,

I think we might be in the same boat at the same time. Just started digging into a 1975 Nickels Lightning. Old beast of a boat. Here's a few photos.

Taking it down to the outer skin and then rebuilding.. Should be interesting. Boat weighed 900 pounds (hull only). Crazy.

Re: Lightning rebuild

Hey, firstlight,
We'll have to keep in touch during the rebuilds.
And find out how to view the photos.
