Hello everyone,

I just want to introduce myself. My name is Tim Sheehan ans I am 1 1/3rd owner of an Albin Cumulus 28' up here in Boston Mass. We have had the boat / partnership for the past 11 seasons now and it has been the best money I have ever spent.

We race her on Wednesday evenings here in the Harbor through Constitution Yacht Club. We have done the Hyannis to Nantucket race (The Figawi Race) a few times. Most years we just take a few weeks off and sail down towards Rhode Island or Long Island during the Summer sometime.

The partnership has been / is a great deal for us at any rate. We have shared the work and expenses of keeping the 31 year old boat in what is now approaching excellent shape. it has been a long process of gradual improvement over the past decade.

We try to do (1) major improvement every season. This last year we had the running rigging and external lights re-wired. I also managed to barter for brand new cushions (My Boos and I are Architects and he is one of the part owners, works great when asking for time to sail away). We did some work for a Client who own an upholstery company. The old orange cushions were really tired.

Other than that, I have been reading this site for a while now and it is usually the first thing I check in the morning. I had a nice sail (a bit cold) out to the outer Harbor and back just sort of ghosting along on the mainsail. We have 3 more weeks before we are hauled and we intend to use her as much as possible.

Later
Tim

Re: New sailnet member

Good to hear your boat partnership works so
well...I hear that is not always the case.
Seems about right, would take 3 to keep the boat in
the shape I would like....and hopefully the other 2 would have
better boat maintenance skills and a lot more money!
Welcome aboard from western LISound.
Hugo
