Hi from Brazil

Hi !

I’m a Brazilian geologist who’s in for changing land for the sea. My husband and I are heading towards living aboard within the next years and we’re now in the major task of seeking for a boat. The more we search, the more difficult it seems, but we’re very enthusiastic with our plan !

Sailnet has been a helpful source of info. As we read we feel we’re part of a much larger community.

Greetings to all !

Re: Hi from Brazil

Thank you guys!

Gunga Din, I see you're from Curitiba. What are the best locations to sail in South of Brazil?

Re: Hi from Brazil

Hi, Gi

The truth is I'm kind of new on this and I don't sail 1/10th of what I wanted to.
Paranaguá bay and north of Paraná is amazing. Beautiful natural scenery but not much of sailing - most of it is inner and dangerously shallow waters. Anyway, Ilha do Cardoso, Canal do Varadouro, Superagüi, Ilha das Peças and Ilha do Mel is one of the best cruising trip you could do.
Beyond Babitonga bay, I haven't been in Santa Catarina in years, but Porto Belo and around is beautiful. Clear, warm waters and very good spots to anchor. Totally different than Paranaguá, SC has an exciting night life, good restaurants... Specially Balneário Camboriú and Florianópolis.

You should join the ABVC. There is always someone happy to give you local tips for a good cruise.
