Texas Sailor

Hello all, I have lurked on this board many times and I thought it was about time to get signed up. I have been Sailing since the early 1970s, actually had my first Pram lessons in the late 60's but I don't relly count that. I have just sold a Pearson Wanderer which I had with a couple of partners. They were ready to get out of the sailing world and she wasn't the boat I wanted going forward. My search for a new boat is getting started, I suspect it will be later next year when I finally get another boat, I will charter in the meantime. I've enjoyed many of your discussions and hope to find an avenue to join in in the near future.

Re: Texas Sailor

I saw the post about the elitist idea, I never thought much about it. For the most part sailors are a bit elitist by nature, we tend to do things most people woulndn't, like going out into open water and getting caught in a squall, dealing with it, surviving and recounting the story in an offhanded manner to disbeleiving non-sailors. Yet most sailors welcome the opportunity to takes folks out who have never been on a sailboat before. We may have minor elitist tendencies, but for the large part, many of the nicest people I have ever met love to be on the water. It could be just the common mindset.

Thanks for the welcome, you are sure to hear more from me as I begin my next "new" boat quest. I am beginning to narrow down what I want, I just have to get the Admiral, as you say, to narrow down what she needs to have in our next boat. Her needs are a bit different than mine, but not by too much.
