Newbies/wannabe liveaboards

My family and I live in Colorado but grew up by the ocean. We have a 25' Columbia. We are newbies, have been sailing on lake Pueblo for a few years. Would like to sell everything and live aboard possibly in or near Morro Bay CA. We are very serious and are trying to decide between a cutter or a ketch. We are also seriously considering a center cockpit. All help is appreciated.
