Greetings from Bulgaria

Hello,

My name is Vency and I'm a junior sailor
Last year (2012) i was on a business trip in California and two friends of mine take me with them on a delivery course from San Francisco to Santa Cruz.
And this was the start

After coming back to Bulgaria, i took certificate "Skipper of seagoing vessel up to 40 GT".
During the fall i had sail twice in the north Aegean.
As soon as i can, will post the travel reports.

See you soon in the sea or Online
Cheers,
Vency

Re: Greetings from Bulgaria

Hi! Welcome to sailnet!

How about Bulgaria and the black sea regarding cruising? This year I will be sailing on the Eastern med and I wonder about the Black sea. I heard that there are few places to anchor. Is that so?

Regards

Paulo

Sorry, I'm far away from Blacksea and i have no idea what and where is marinas
Greece and Aegean is more closer to me.

I have a friend with a boat near Burgas. I can ask him.
What type of boat , size ? Where you want to anchor ?

I have seen that the coast from Istanbul to Burgas seems nice, specially near Burgas. I wonder if the bottom is sand on those coves and if it is safe to stay on anchor. Also I have heard generalized complaints about pollution on the Black Sea. I wonder if that is a problem on that area?

And since you offer to ask to your friend ask him also about the best place to leave the boat out of water from October to Mai/June, in a safe and surveyed place and the price for that regarding a sailboat with 12,5m.

Thanks

Paulo
