Re: Greetings from Annapolis, MD

Chuckles he has already been checking out alternate routes. Seems like just when he finds a good way they close the road off, in the DC area, for construction or some crap. He is always looking for other ways to and from. We had heard several stories before we moved up here about the commute, but I guess you don't really know first hand until you are in the thick of it.

BadSanta....we will surely check that event out as well. Sounds like fun!

Nope, you don't know it until you do it.
I've done the commute both ways, going west to Winchester and going east to Annapolis.

The easiest on the body is driving in and jumping on metro, then taking the train in. Time is more consistent, but it's consistently longer than driving by 25%. Still, you get to catnap on the way.
I made sure I stayed away from the Pentagon during my Navy time (and was far too junior to get stationed there as a Marine).
As a civilian the pay for jobs there is better, but I'd rather make less and enjoy more.

Re: Greetings from Annapolis, MD

Thanks jameswilson29 for the welcome! This site is certainly a wealth of information no doubt. I have posted several things on another forum website and each time the responses have helped up tremendously. We didn't have to dig too deep in our pockets and call a professional. We were able to troubleshoot, just from the responses we received, and fix the issues we have had thus far. Good stuff!

WingNWing...you are too cute! Hope you had fun in the little bit of snow we got Friday. I practically sat on the oil heater Kris got until my blood started flowing again. Gosh I got so colddd!!! Probably should go ahead and get use to it huh?!? ha ha ha

Re: Greetings from Annapolis, MD

yeah he did the metro for about a week, but found even though the driving was not that great, he preference was to drive vs taking the metro. It's sort of expensive when you take in the ride plus the parking each day. When I go have lunch with him, I take the metro in and he just meets me downstairs to sign me in. It's pretty easy and fun.
