Re: anchoring in Miami

I often go down to Miami...but we go for Nixons, the Hurricane Hole there, or No Name Harbor...as I understand Watson Island is largely a mooring field. Whats your proposal?

I usually go to the Marine Stadium, and go over to Sunset Lake on the weekend.

Marine Stadium can be hit or miss...depending on if there is a party or concert over at Bayside Hut. I remember getting caught there when it was time for Miami Carnivale (Ocroberish). THUMP-THUMP-THUMP kept us up all night.

Sunset lake has the crazy home owner thats parked a bunch of laser picos all over the anchorage. The nutter seems to have finally won his battle against cruisers anchoring. Fewer and fewer good places to anchor in Miami.
