How much Angle in my spreaders?

I'am building a custon skiff sailboat and I want to know what is the maximun angle for a spreader location if I do not want to include a Backstay cable.

If you look at the current crop of backstay-less rigs you'll see that the spreader sweep appears to be 25 - 35 degrees aft, in some cases even more.

If this is going to be a quick boat that gets 'heated up' multihull style and ends up sailing high angles all the time rather than truly 'running' DDW then even a severe spreader sweep won't be a big issue.

We have a releasable backstay to accommodate mainsail roach, our spreader sweep is about 25-30 degrees.
