New Owner B461

I'm purchasing a 1998 Bene 461 after having sold a 1993 31.5' Bene. I wanted to buy a classic but couldn't get financing for an older boat. My new Bene is "loaded" with items bought over the years. Methinks I'd like to add hot water on demand. I have it at the house and love it. My plan is to go through everything and bring them up to date to do some serious cruising.

Bob D... moved your post to this board.. better than ressurrecting an older post that's not really on topic.

Welcome to Sailnet.. the 461s are impressively comfy boats. Do your due diligence re on-demand hot water.. they can be an issue for insurance providers and many are not 'marine rated'.

I put in a bid on a 461 when I bought my boat but the owner had already accepted a bid. It's a really sweet boat and I think you'll like it. I ended up with a classic and love sailing it.

Re: New Owner B461

Farr designed...these B461 are sleepers! In SE florida, a couple of them have gotten really generous PHRF ratings and rack up the hardware in club and distance races
