Smile Hello fellow sailing friends!

New here, just wanted to say hi! I just purchased an 82 Allmand 31 and am doing some updating including replacing the horrid headliner... comments or helpful suggestions welcome!

Welcome aboard. Headliner kind of depends. If there is hardware on the cabin top which might have to be rebedded at some point then it's best to design a headliner that can be removed in sections. If this isn't a requirement, carpeting would work OK.

Your local Home Depot sells thin, flexible, finished, white fiberglass sheets in 4 ft x 8ft for around $30.00 a sheet. These can be ripped into 12 inch to 18" wide 8ft strips and be fastened to the cabintop with thin wood battens, allowing removal by section if needed, This won't break the bank, has a sand pebble finish which looks professional and won't require experts to install.

For what it's worth...
