Standing on the banks of the Chesapeake, watching the boats go by.

Greetings SailNet,

I've come aboard this site primarily looking for crewing opportunities, racing or cruising.

I live in Washington, DC and have been sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with a club since 2008. Unfortunately I had to discontinue my membership with the club after the 2011 season and didn't sail much in 2012. This year I'm determined to change that and get out on the water, any water, as much as possible.

I dream of a little boat to call my own but haven't made the plunge yet. Figure I'll build my skill and knowledge base first.

Anyway, glad to be here. I've already learned a lot from reading these posts.

Welcome LaFlaneur.

It has been my experience that if you develop relationships in the forum, it can lead to crewing opportunities. Some daysails, some longer. Some people say that this is "only the internet" but for the most part, the people I've met in person who I first met in the forum where the same in person as they projected online and that helps in a decision to say "why don't you join us?"

Best of luck with your sailing goals.
