Hi all. Been lurking for a couple of years. Moved to Norfolk, virginia two years ago and ready to start sailing. Took ASA 101 and 102 last fall. Planning to purchase first small sailboat this summer. Very exciting. Looking forward to being part of the group!

Welcome/ ! Post when you buy or ask about the kind of boat you are looking at. Someone will like it some will not but you can hear what they think and pick what you like.

Lou has it! There isn't a boat out there that isn't loved by some and hated by others, all for very sound reasons. I suggest picking up a copy of The Complete Trailer Sailor by Brian Gilbert. ($20 on Ebay) or something like it. Among other things, Gilbert includes pro, cons, specs, sketches and photos of about 50 (I think) small to large trailerables from 12' to 28'. Could help you figure out what you like or don't like and may identify all the stuff that you never knew you always wanted. James L. Nelson recommended it to me. I still owe him a Sam Adams or maybe he owes me one. I guess it's the same thing.
