Dripless Packing

Does anyone have any advice on dripless packing? I don't want to go the PSS Shaft Seal route but I believe that there are some Teflon packing products that you can install in place of the normal packing?

Thanks,

Mike

Look for Gore-Tex packing.

SailorMitch will become famous soon enough
Get the Gore-Tex that DeepFrz recommends. You can tighten the stuffing box so that it doesn't drip at all with that product. It works very well in my boat.

I put in Teflon packing in my prev. boat. Worked well for 3 years then we sold it. The present owner asked me after 2 more years when he should check or adjust it. I told him , if its not broke, dont fix it.still going OK today.
