'31 Citation Water Leak

I have a very small leak coming through the stringer in the forward cabin (the stringer runs under the head). No visible leaks in the hanging locker or behind the head or sink. Do not have pictures of my hull. Does anyone know what through-hulls (if any) are located in this area?

I bet your leak is from the attachment of the toe rail on the port side or the forward chain plate. Take a flashlight and shine it on the inside of the hull through the port storage area and also in the back of your wet locker on starbard side after a hard rain. Irwin used 5200 to seal them but some of ours were leeking and had to be rebed. Good Luck

use baby powder on the dry hull and then after it rains there will be a trail on the hull that will lead you to the location of leak.

About the water leak. I agree that a chain plate or a stanchion in this area or a fill for fuel or water on the deck could be the source. I also like the baby powder idea. Good Luck. Please post what you find out.

I found quite a few leaks on my Citation 35 just by going around and tightening the screws on my stantions (all of my deck hardware actually). I got rid of a few from the stantions and a couple from the jib tracks. The ones that just rotated and didn't tighten required holding the nut from below with a pair of vice grips and tightening from above. You could send your mate below to hold the wrench and yelling to/at her, but the chance of being hit with a wrench are very high.
