LP locker system

Hello gang!

I was taking some pictures of the propane locker to help out a friend relaunching a salavage Irwin 34 Citation. I can't believe two of us did this.

Looking in the locker I remembered seeing this extra device in the circuit. It goes tank (16 oz adaptor in my case), regulator, hose, unknown vertical device, hose, solenoid, hose, run to stove. The unknown has a red cap on top and something like a sight glass in the bottom.

I wish this was the magic something that would let me use a vertical tank in the horizontal position so I don't need to dream about buying a horizontal tank. But as usual, the fastest way to find out something is to ask the list.

My next move is likely to be cutting out the bottom of the horizntal tank locker and making it a vertical locker. Anyone done that? It doesn't look to bad as boat projects go.

PS The jazz down below seems to think we can attach files no, so I gave it a try. I had to rotate it 90 clockwise to make it 600 x 800.

weird device

the weird device is probley the leak detector which is old and not very safe anymore. It should be replaced with a pressure guage in front of the regulator. I recently ripped out all lines in my Irwin 37 cc and replaced mwith all new hoses and fittings . mabe you should look into a composite tank lighter and they make smaller ones. hope this helps some good luck.
