ST 4000 belt replacement

As anybody who has tried to replace the drive belt knows, Ratheon no longer sells the replacement belt. A belt is available from the supplier below at about $16.00. It has steel cords and is a neoprene

Has any one tried these folks yet? My belt broke this weekend and it looks like $50+ from anywhere else?

I tried them and got a bunch of belts cheap. Order extras.

The one thing I've noticed is that the belts are a little stiffer and slightly smaller in circumference, which means they hold VERY tightly, which is a good thing, but also puts a little extra stress on the handle that engages the drive, and on that pin that holds the handle in place. Bring spare pins / etc.

You do know that you can adjust and ease the belt tension and that all new belts are very tight when you install them unless you ease the tension since the belts stretch a little (actually seem to compress as much as stretch) over time.

I got my belts Friday. Installation was a piece of cake. They worked great. I wound up paying $45 for two including shipping. Definitely recommend.
