Replacing Propane Tanks

The legs under the aluminum tanks in my 1989 Irwin-43III Winterlude are crumbling, and I'd like to replace them. Problem is that no one seems to be making an aluminum or composite propane tank that fits the locker. If I measured them correctly, the tanks measure 12"H x max 8"Diameter. The only tanks that will fit are made of steel, which I'd like to avoid as the locker seems to be taking in quite a bit of seawater. Has anyone replaced these tanks with an aluminum version?

I have an Irwin 38 and had to use a steel tank, I could not even get the aluminum tank refilled.

Propane Tank

The best, and possibly the only odd sized tank manufacturer I could find for my Irwin 37CC was ASME Tanks, Propane Tanks, Air Tanks and Chemical Tanks from Manchester Tank . They make lots of odd sizes and some great fittings and stuff to help you with your installation.
