Looking for info on 1977 25'

I found my brother a SMOKIN' deal on a 1977 25' Irwin. It was on the hard, loaded with boxes of parts and misc. boat stuff. The boat is all together but a lot of this stuff was for sprucing or upgrading. It has a new 25HP Vetus diesel with something like 20 hours on it. We've been told the previous owner was management with DHL Trucking. He went back to Germany when the company shut down operations and left the boat at the marina. He was planning on doing upgrades and using it as a live aboard. The marina is mostly a powerboat marina so this little gem sat on the hard until my brother offered them $500...sold! The boat appears solid and my brother plans to launch in about 4 weeks (I seriously doubt that is doable).

Anyway, I'd like to find a specification sheet or owners manual or the like for his boat. I seem to come close until it comes to the steering, he has wheel steering and everything I see here on the net shows tiller steering. Any suggestions?

I would have bought the boat myself but I found it AFTER I bought my 1993 Mac 26S. But hey...At least my brother has a nice boat he could easily afford, and I do love that Mac...But I love most all boats...It's the idiots behind the wheels I have problems with.

Its possible that the boat was originally tiller steering and someone added an aftermarket wheel.

It appears so

I actually found a site that sells conversion kits to do just that. Since it appears that the 25 was produced between 1969 and 1976 I guess he got one of the last boats produced. Since they seem to be OEM tiller steering it would have to have been an add on. He told me he needs info on CB operation and through hull designations (What hoooks up to what through hull).

Lets try a picture...

Sometimes I can do this, sometimes not....OK! It worked!
This was when it was first bought in September. He has done a good amount of work to it since then. Although the boat appears white, it's actually a pale yellow. This pic is from my cell phone.

Smile IRWIN 25 info

It is hard to get info on the Irwins.
I just bought a 1973 32' and researing that I could only find the sails brochure.
There is an old employee of Irwin that has some info on the web, the link http://www.irwinyachts.com/aft-cockpit_files/AFT1.htm show both the 25' and the 10/4 (also 25') brochures.
I was suprised to find out that the Endeavor 32 was the same as my Irwin 32.
I believe when Irwin stopped producung the smaller boats in the 70's some other companies picked up the design like the Endevour 32 and Lancer 25.
Happy Sailing

I just got a 1975 25' Irwin 10/4 freshwater boat to sell in my brokerage. A beautiful, complete, just add water, ready to go boat with a wheel and trailer. Also looking for an owners manual. This boat has a gas Volvo engine so any info on that will also be appretiated.
