no reverse power

I have an Irwin 30 Citattion with a yanmar diesel.
I have no power in reverse. i have power in forward. would this be a pin or something in the sahft mechanism.
i can move the shaft with my hand to re engage and it will give me some reverse power.
any help would be appreciated.

You are going to have to give some additional info. if you expect someone to be able to help you, and pictures are worth a thousand words.
From what you have said it sounds like the shaft is coming out of the coupling, or partially coming out. Might have come loose or might be damage to the shaft.
