Irwin 42 center cockpit

I've been looking through old threads trying to find information on these but haven't seen any. Is this boat a bad design or what that people seem to steer away from it or are they that good nothing happens to them and people don't need advice?

We have been living aboard & cruising on a 1975 Irwin 42' CC for 8 years. We love it & wouldn't consider another boat for the kind of sailing we do. She is heavy & doesn't sail great with wind on her bow, but we did have her up over 11 knots on more than one occasion!!
