Re: New Irwin Owner

Maybe I brought up the wrong Irwin (1979, 39 Citation) but I too am restoring and it is a planed 2 year project. I would love to hear from anyone who has a 39 about some of their do's and dont's. Surely there is more tha one out there. The good news is she is in pretty good shape now, new larger engine 4JH3 Yanmar lot's of new electronics and in need of cosmetics more than anything. I do need to drop the rudder and put a new shaft in, hopefully it will not be too much of a problem.

Re: New Irwin Owner

Captrice,
I'd post to the main forum's instead of the Irwin specific threads.
The Yahoo group is good for I 39 specific stuff.
While a some things are specific to builder most are just 'boat'.

BTW, I've got a 1987 Irwin 38 CC MkII; new to me.

Re: New Irwin Owner

Thanks for the reply it seems there are alot of 37 CC's and 38's but not very many 39.9 Citation's. I bought the boat from a family in New York the father who was the owner had passed away in 2011 and they finally decided to let the boat go in 2012. He had spent a lot of money in his restoration process so I was very fortunate in finding the boat. I left Long Island (Amityville) 4 days after Sandy to bring her back to Panama City Fl. After 40 years as a professional mariner I have never been more impressed with a boat.
