Changing hose in head
The hose that goes from the head to the overboard sea **** has calcium
deposit that reduces the inside diameter to one half of that of a clean hose.

Would appreciate any suggestions on how to replace the hose or how to
remove the deposited calcium.

Have not tried it, but been told letting vinegar sit in hose will break down calcium. I replaced the hoses on my IP35 - not sure your model - but it is a job!

I've done the head hoses on two boats now. If they don't stink, I'd take it off, beat it on the dock, dump out the calcium deposits and put it back on. If the hoses were getting a little stinky, I'd just replace them. Just finished doing that job on our current boat last month. Having a blow dryer or a heat gun to warm up the ends of the hoses made the job a lot easier.

You can take muriatic acid and flush so that it stays in the hose for 20 minutes or so....then flush overboard. Repeat as necessary. Works better than vinegar for built up deposits. Do the same monthly with vinegar as maintenance.

It's best to take the hose off, fill with muriatic acid, soak, and then beat the devil out of it. The problem with leaving it on is that the deposits sometimes will break up and then jam. This happened to me last year and I had to bite the bullet, take the hose off and clear the jam with my pole spear. If it's an old hose I would replace it.

I'm sure that after 14 months, Gail will be pleased with all the prompt responses to her calcified head hose dilemma. (g)

How to fix heads is always a timely subject for discussion. :)
