Forum email issues
 

since I haven't been receiving any sailnet forum emails for many days I thought I'd check the sailnet web interface. This is a test forum message to see if it's posted on the web site and/or if it's sent via emails. a few people have contacted me off board so let's see if it posts.

I see it so it must be working.

I think he is referring to the IP mail list server which is discontinued and replaced by a section in the on line special interest forums.

As a moderator, maybe you can help us. If the listserv email lists have been discontinued, this is the first any of us have learned of it. I can understand Sailnet wanting to move to the vBulletin system so that they can get eyeballs on ads. However, it would seem prudent to warn the members of the listserv in advance and give them time to migrate to the new system. At the VERY LEAST, send one final email letting everyone know what is going on. At the moment all that has happened is that Sailnet has effectively killed an active and useful audience.

If Sailnet doesn't want to do it, send me a file with the email addy's of the IP list and I'll send the email and instructions...I miss the group!

Kevin...I have passed your suggestion along and hopefully we will hear back in the near future.

cam-- the Pearson email list doesn't appear to be working either. this i found out via the Pearson yahoo groups list---where more and more Pearson email traffic is migrating. also lots of complaints when Sailnet changed to the " unknown sender" line for sent emails. NO way to know who a post was from. Lots of folks object to the bulletin board method because ask a question about a Pearson and you get answers from people with an entirely different boat.

Email list's been discontinued
 

CAM - FYI looks like all of the email lists have been discontinued. Noy a good move in my opinion without a little warning.

I belong two the Island Packet and Newport lists and they are dead - as were every other one that I tried to look at.

Had not been an isue till recently when it appeard that the email lists were crashing and not being supported. Going to close my login here and will focus on IPHomeport and IPPhotos.com and hope they can get the web interface working.
