New RF Jib for sale

Not sure how many IP-37 owners read this, but I have to sell a brand new jib for an IP. The sailmaker told me it was built for an IP-37.

Strongly-built sail with vertical battens. I bought it (mistakenly) believing it was a good fit for our boat. We needed a sturdy head sail for cruising. It turned out to be about a foot too long. (With age should come wisdom... hasn't always worked out that way for me!)

It needs a new home.
Shipping is possible of course. Better is someone in the Pacific NW wants it.

Might it not be worth cutting down to fit??? The only real issue I could see would be any forestay angle difference, and how that would affect the alignment of the 'vertical' battens when furling.

If it was a decent deal the couple of hundred bucks it would cost might still be reasonable?

As I often notice, you do ask the right questions....
Since I needed to sheet it to our forward inside-shroud tracks, I found that what with having to spend about $400. for a recut (quaote from local loft that I trust) it was all getting be too complicated. This would involve a vertical slice out, all new head, and an open question about whether the leach battens would still align perfectly with the luff.) And then the sheeting angle might not have been right.

So, of course I finally had a new jib constructed. Loft mgr did all the measurements and guarantees the fit. Lot more $, but we have saved up some 'new sail money' for quite a few years, and what the hey, we all rationalize the things we want!

Having the Admiral agree was the last step, and she signed off.
