That's where mine is, just under the sink. Works like a charm. It's a Rainfresh FC 005 "Under Sink" filter, about $30.00. There are different levels of filtering and I use the one for "Chlorine, Taste, and Odor, costs about $15 for two cartridges. Each cartridge lasts a season. There is a cartridge (about $30 each)rated for micro organisms but it restricts water flow too much and doesn't improve the flavor any more than the less expensive one. I like my coffee & tea without a plastic aftertaste!

Thanks for saving me a lot of Googling to find a filter. Your recommendations have always been spot on. As for locating the filter under sink, all I can say is "Great minds..." ;-)

I checked around for the Rainfresh unit but it's a Canadian product and I couldn't find a US distributor. At least I know more or less what to look for.
