Islander 32" bad strut

Dear fellow quality boat owners,

I've got a 1979 32" Islander Mark 2 and the strut is disintigrating. If any one knows where a replacement can be found, please let me know. I'm afraid one will have to be fabricated, but it would be nice if they can still be purchased.

Islander Tim,
I had problems with my Islander 28 strut and contacted Robert Perry (Who actually replied to me!).
The original manufacturer of the struts was a company called Buck Algonquin Marine, who are still in business and have a web site.
On your existing strut there should be a number stampted on it. If you have that, Buck Algonquin can match that to an existing strut.
If not, give them the dimensions of your strut , including the shaft diameter and they should be able to find a match.
