Hand Holds

Hi,

I am looking at the purchase of an Islander 32. Like the space below but don't like the fact that there does not appear to be anywhere to hold onto in rough weather. Is this a problem and what have other owners done to rectify. Don't like idea of being thrown around that large cabin in rough seas?
Ken

I32 Handholds

There are, kinda, places to hold on to in an Islander 32. They are more like finger holds around the sides of the cabin. If you haven't found them, just look below the portlights in the main cabin. They work OK but are not as good as real handholds.

Interested in a 32 in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico?

Ken-
What short people call handholds, tall people call headbangers. The answer may be to simply install handrails where you want them in the overhead. The Islander decks are usually Bruneel-cored fiberglass, a very dense marine plywood, and you should have no problem through-bolting handrails in them.
