How do you know what boat you have. prevs. owner did not have much other than it was an isladner 30 he never left the dock with it he used it more for look what i got. Then got boarded and dry dock it so, now we are restoring it. It is a 1971 30' islander with a vin of TV83153.

I have a 1977 Islander 32, "For Pete's Sake".

Bought her in the fall of 2009 in Maryland and sailed her up to Rhode Island in the spring of 2010.

It's likely that I'll spend most of the 2011 summer aboard cruising the coast of Maine and maybe into Canada.

If anyone is cruising in New England this summer I'd love to get together.

Hello fellow I32 owners. Tried to tow a new dinghy recently for the first time. By the time I got where I was going (motoring) the dinghy was full of water. Black exhaust water. We have that reverse transom with the thru hull shooting water up and well behind us. Motoring into the wind, like I was, makes matters worst. So, other than getting 100 feet of tow line, has anyone modified their wet exhaust thru hull with an 90 degree exhaust elbow to divert the spray down to avoid soaking what is being towed? Suggestions please...

I have a 1977 Islander too, and my exhaust port is not in the transom. I can't seem to upload a picture of my exhaust port, give me your email address I'll send you a picture of where mine is. If you look at the picture my exhaust port is actually not through the transom, but just above the waterline and under the rear portion of the hull.

I would suggest putting your exhaust outlet where mine is.

I have the small Volvo inboard. Maybe your engine needs an exhaust port somewhat higher.

FYI - My I32 has the exhaust out of the transom. I'd be tempted to place a flap on it only held down by gravity (but assure it can't flip up and lay in up position). It will likely take care of the issue and act as a check (flapper) valve on water coming up exhaust. A 90 should work fine.

My Islander 32 MKii is on the hard and we are in the process of changing the thruhulls(head inlet/outlet, engine inlet, and head sink drain) does anyone have a good supplier of thru hulls besides the usual suspects? These thru hulls are flush-mounted and it seems that the flange diameter is larger than the Groco/perko etc. the flange diam is 2.75 on a 1 inch thread and 2.25 on a 3/4 inch thread. Any help would be appreciated.
