That's different than the setup on my '84 Bahama 30. I'm not sure there's enough traffic that you'll hear from another '78 owner. I'm hoping an owner of a boat made 2 or 3 years either side of yours will chime in.
FWIW, I have two panels -- an A/C and a D/C panel that are black and are set in the bulkhead above the navigation station. The rotary battery switch is in the quarter berth. The breakers are the push-button type and there is indeed room for expansion in both panels. Sorry, I don't know who made them.
