Original Electrical Panel - Bahama 30

Does anyone have an original 1978 Islander Bahama main electrical panel? I replaced mine more than a few years ago and am in need of a quality photo of the original panel. If I recall correctly it was brown in color, had the big battery switch on the left and space for seven breakers on the right. The bottom breaker was empty and left blank for future considerations.

That's different than the setup on my '84 Bahama 30. I'm not sure there's enough traffic that you'll hear from another '78 owner. I'm hoping an owner of a boat made 2 or 3 years either side of yours will chime in.

FWIW, I have two panels -- an A/C and a D/C panel that are black and are set in the bulkhead above the navigation station. The rotary battery switch is in the quarter berth. The breakers are the push-button type and there is indeed room for expansion in both panels. Sorry, I don't know who made them.

Thanks Tom. I've seen the panel for the 85s and it is quite different than the 78s. Same place and all, the A/C panel is facing forward and D/C panel is above the "Nav Station". I found an old, blurry photo with the panel in the background and it looks like the Islander logo was on the left side with the switches on the right. The battery switch was facing the quarterberth. If anyone out there has a quality photo I would appreciate it.

Yes!! That's the one! I'd forgotten what it really looked like. Can you send me the photo at bvermeer@shaw.ca? That would be greatly appreciated. I rebuilt my electrical panel about 8 years ago when I purchased the Islander, and have just done so again based on replacing the engine and all wiring to the stern of the boat. I'm writing an article for submission to the Good Old Boat magazine and I need a photo of the original panel for comparison purposes. Thank you! (Got to love this site!)
