Lake Erie Cruise Guide Book

Hey guys it's almost Christmas time and keeping with tradition I'm searching for gifts last minute.. I thought a great gift would be a Lake Erie and/or Great Lakes cruise and destination guide type book. I've searched and the best I've been able to find is this "Lakeland Boating's Lake Erie and Lake St. Claire Ports `O Call Cruise Guide." It looks pretty great with destinations and restaurants etc. however the newest edition was last updated in 2003. The world keeps spinnin' and I'm sure tons of new places have opened up and many of the older ones have closed.

Do any of you guy's or ladies know of any other books like this one, that may be a little more up to date? It's for my dad and he's nearing retirement and I know he'd like nothing better than to just spend his summer cruising with some great destinations in mind. Thanks!

Re: Lake Erie Cruise Guide Book

I am not sure why they have not updated Lake Erie.
Ports-o-Call is one of the best out there. These are great books to have on board.
I carry our Lake Michigan Port-o-Call and use it all the time. In the past 15 years it has been updated 3 times that I can remember. Maybe Lakeland is ready to update the Erie book. Maybe contact them and ask them directly when it will be updated. Ports o' Call Cruising Guides: Updates, Weather and Links for Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Superior and Lake OntarioAs far as a Great Lakes Cruising Guide, these are the best I have ever found.

Personally, I like Richardson's. The 6th edition was updated 2010.

Re: Lake Erie Cruise Guide Book

I am looking for a used copy of the Richardsons' Lake Erie Chartbook. Anyone want to sell me one for $25 plus $5 shipping? I have liked my Richardsons' Chartbook for Lake Superior.
