So, whats the plans. When are you leaving destination etc. now you've had all winter to plan. We're trying to get to Killarney area and Baie Fine first two weeks of August, but may/will change as time approaches.
What can I say: I'm a slow learner.
I'm really not sure what's going on this summer. The only thing that's confirmed right now is that we are booked to take the Intermediate sailing course through 30,000 Island Sailing Adventures (out of Killbear) the last week of July. My wife and I are doing this to a) get some real training and find out what I've been doing wrong, and b) get a certification that would enable us to bareboat in the Med - a trip we hope to make in a year or two.
The plan was
to do the North Channel for the couple of weeks prior to the course then end up in Killbear.
Things have changed a bit and now I'm thinking I might go back to plan 'A' which was to do the North Channel solo, with another buddy sailing his boat. He's been in a bad accident and may not be able to sail this summer - so I'm back on my own. I think I will probably still go.
Trouble is I've got a couple of other things that are potentials: I'm trying to get to Bonaire in June (for some diving). Another thing that might be happening is that a friend of a friend is considering a cruise from Midland to Chicago. I've been asked to crew - if the trip goes. It will be on a big power boat (I think it's in the 60' range), but I would still like to do that.
So, in answer to your question: I don't know what I'm doing.
I have to be back to work by mid-August, so I doubt I will be doing KIllarney/North Channel after my course - but who knows: I go where the wind blows me.
Hope to see you on the water.
