one man only.

hello,
my name is daniel. I recently was given my first boat ever just last fall 2010. It's a 18ft buccaneer. Nice. Never sailed before in my life. Fun, so fun. So I one maned it all fall. This spring I was given opertunity to trade a trailer I had for a 25ft ventura. So I did. Been one maning her since the ice droped. Actually it hadn,t all cleared had to avoid some burgs. Anyway just looking for sailors to learn from in northern michigan huron side to mackinaw.

Welcome aboard Daniel. Good luck with your new sport.
PS
The more general term is "single handing" although now that I think about it your term makes more sense.:)

wouldn't single hand suggest that I only had one hand. Ha ha .... By the way, very impressed on the fact you appear to be a dog...sorry I can help myself....thank you fore the info though...as I said it's all new.

Welcome Daniel.
I've heard Cheboygan is a good harbour in a nice location.
Whatever you do, don't make the trip across the north end of Lake Huron to the North Channel of Georgian Bay. It's a miserable place as witnessed by the unbiased testimony here.
Terrible North Channel

oh no... I would never think of sailing to such a place...who wants to navagate around all those darned islands...and besides the waters all....blue and crystal like. Nope not for me.....
