Apostle Islands Trip

Sorry, I'm bringing this thread back up even though its older but I'm going up to the Apostle's in August and chartering a boat for 4 days. What should be on my 'must do' list? What are some of the less known places? Do you have any personal favorites? Any other suggestions you have are welcome!

I enjoy staying overnight at the Madeline Island Marina and enjoying good food and beverages in La Pointe.

What islands do you recommend explore? Outside of Madeline, what smaller less popuoler ones do you suggest?

Stockton Island, though a popular place, does have a couple of nice anchorages and some hiking trails. Raspberry has a lighthouse, hiking trails and a nice anchorage on the east side but you need to pay attention to the wind and wave direction or you will likely be in for a rocky night if you anchor there. As others have mentioned, Bonnie Dahl's book "The Superior Way" is a great source of information.

My family really enjoyed Stockton Island. Nice beaches and hiking and a pretty snug place to anchor for the night in most wind conditions. I hope you have a great trip!
