Re: Learning to sail in Ohio

I took a close-quarters maneuvering course from a guy in Sandusky, if that's close enough for you. I was pretty happy with him. It was about six hours of on-boat training. There were pretty stiff winds for a noob like me, showing sometimes 18 knots on the wind speed indicator. So we got some good exposure, at least with wind coming from the northwest. Capt. Tim Schmitz, 330-416-3152; capttim at zoominternet dot net. My boat is a Beneteau 361.

Re: Learning to sail in Ohio

Thanks for the quick reply. I will give him a call. I do not currently own a boat yet. Would like a class and/or instructor that can teach me the ropes(pun intended). Want to fill my head with as much information and experience as possible.

Anyone else know of anything like this around Toledo, OH?
