Liberty Sailing Schools

Anyone ever hear of this org? Seems like they are in many locations and there is a school here in Philly. Looks like they offer 2-day weekend ASA 101 classes for $359. Does that sound like a good deal?

I'd probably go out with Phila Sailing Club on a few trips in April-May or June, and I would like to take the 101 course some time after that. What do you think?

I believe both Liberty Sailing School and NJ Sailing School will be at the Philadelphia Strictly Sail this weekend. You can check out both.

Liberty has its boats at the marina near Dave and Busters on Delaware Ave Philadelphia and uses the river both side of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

NJSS has boats at Point Pleasant NJ at the North end of Barnegat Bay, and Riverside NJ on the Delaware up river from the Tacony/Palmyra Bridge.

Parking is easier at Riverside, but public transit is easier at Liberty. Both schools have good reputations. Riverside has a stop on the Camden/Trenton light rail.

With NJSS after completing 101 you can rent boats at Point Pleasant and maybe also Riverside.
