Wow - I skipped over the majority of the thread, but as A newbie I read s-dog's comments and they seemed dead on to me - although I've only sailed once a few weeks ago, I did a whole lot of reading over the winter and recognized the corrections - and you really don't want to start off with inaccurate info for newbies - eventually you learn by sailing with those more experienced - with wrong info, your communication will be more difficult.

did the OP take offense - he should not have.

Kernix-

Wasn't the OP that was the problem... was a troll and a troll fanboy... Guesser and CoralReefer to be exact.. No worries.. haven't heard or seen either since.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Hey man, ya made me stop asking dumb Q's and read deeper with one little Q of your own. DO YOU HAVE A BOAT YET. Like a kid in a candy store I went nuts. As I've always believed silence is wiser than volume.

Your definitions are better than ole man Webster's. Rock On you S'ing Dog

getting better be in some more, making positive movement just keeping my mouth shut and not telling on my self noooo more (thank god for pfd's).

I'll be there soon. 15 yrs of big wheels, none of ya can out drive me, just turning dreams to reality (how does that really cool quote go about dreams and fantasies) truckheads, cowboys, and sailior really aren't that much different. I'm just adding a new skill to my fun resume, hell, couldn't type a week ago

While I can sail a monohull, I prefer not to live life at a 20˚ tilt.

I might add a section on docking. Haven't read the whole thread, but it seems that a section on docking your boat might be good for a primer.

Having a novice dock the boat can be interesting, especially to your insurance premiums...
