I don't think much of S2 10.3's either as race boats or as cruisers. Frankly S2 design and build quality very much varied by model. The 10.2's have never struck me as a particuilarly good design, especially for the dollar.

I personally like the 10.3 design, in fact one was on my last short list. I'd describe the design more as MORC on steroids than IOR. I like the way the boat was finished and the deck and cockpit layouts.

In northern NE these were OK racers, perhaps too heavy for consistently sailing to their rating. Ok for local cruising as with similar 34s, sort of depends on equipment. As to liveaboard, you got me there, I'd say as good as any other six person tent.
