AMF Sunbird's centerboard question

Does anyone have a drawing of the AMF Sunbird's centerboard ? Does it have anything that limits it's position of downward "swing" when it is fully dropped ? At that point what does the boat draw ?

Does anyone out there have a sunbird that can help me with this ?

I've sailed these a lot, they only thing that limits the downward motion is the camcleat, Here's a link to the Owner's manual, Sunbird. It looks like it has 4'2" draft with the board down.

manual

Hey, my dad and I were thinking about getting a Sunbird and have been looking for a manual, but I wasn't able to connect to the link you posted. Do you think you could post the website for me? just incase i'm not on, could you email it to me instead? chelseafan250 at aol.com

I have sunbird too, the centerboard stuck in the trunk. Did anyone get / find the manual? If so could you email it to me? Did anyone find a good way to get the centerboard out?

Thanks

Go to this site groups.yahoo.com/group/amfsunbird. It is a Sunbird Group. Under Photos, there are pics with dimensions of the center board and under Files there are several copies on the user manual.

It is a good site for all Sunbird & Sundird II info. You will have to signup to use the site, but it is free.

I, like most of the people who own the boat have or had problems with the centerboard sticking.

I just went on the Sunbird site but could not find the Pics with centerboard dimension, but I had downloaded them to my computer some time ago. They are two jpg's. I tried to attach them to this message but this site says I do not have permission. I can e-mail them directly if needed. They are pics with of an actual centerboard with the dimensions added to the print.

I, like most of the people who own the boat have or had problems with the centerboard sticking. I had to take my boat off the trailer and roll it on the sjde to remove the board. I then did a lot of sandind. The above site was created because on the centerboard sticking problem.
