Learning opportunities East FLA?

I am an aspiring sailor, and plan to take lessons this fall. I''ve heard that if you show up on club race days, often there is someone looking for crew or willing to take a novice etc. Does anyone know of clubs or regular race days in the FT Pierce to Cocoa Area? I live between the 2 and am looking for opportunities. Certainly willing to help with boat maintenance or bring the beer/soda in return. Respond here or at Dale112211@aol.com

Thank you

The Titusville Yacht Club (321-267-2967) is offering SunFish sailing classes for 5 Saturday, starting May 4th. They are every Sat. morning from 8:00 to 12:30 and the cost is only $50 for the 5 weeks. From what I''ve been told sailing Sunfish is the BEST way to learn. Can''t beat classes for $2.50/hr!! If you are interested, you might want to call soon as I hear they are filling the class fast.

Also, Diamond 99 Marina just south of the Pineda Causeway gives ASA certified classes. I just finished the Basic Coastal Cruising course from there.

Blue Skies,
LarLei.
