I just saw the Cunningham one, and I think it may be the best yet. Certainly the graphics are very clear and easy to follow and so is the explanation.
My Cunningham is used more the closer I get to the edge of being overpowered with a full main hoist. I use it as a "pre-reef" if I'm on a reach, and on certain sail types, it is very evident that the draft is moving forward making a "thicker wing".
If I'm pointing, I just tend to put in a reef and tension the outhaul and the halyard a bit more to get a flatter sail.
I have never flown an airplane, but playing with sail controls has given me a good idea of how wing cross-section affects lift, because a main-sail is basically a big vertical wing. The very first airplane didn't have ailerons, but used "wing warping" to control roll. This is very much what sail controls do in the vertical plane.
Nice work, Alex. You're developing an effective style.
